    An access account number is the number printed on the front of your credit card. This is the number you use to register for and access your British Airways Credit Card online service.

    PIN is short for Personal Identification Number. You have to choose this number yourself when you register for your British Airways Credit Card online service.     Transaction limits apply to payments. These form an important part of your online banking security and can potentially stop a phisher from transferring very large volumes of money from your account. If you set these limits you will only be able to transfer money and make payments within these limits. If, however, you do not have transaction limits set you will not be able to move your money anywhere.

    No, non South African British Airways Executive Club members do not earn Avios on the South African British Airways Credit Card. In order to collect, you will need to contact the British Airways Executive Club (010 344 0135) to either update your country of residence or open a new South African British Airways Executive Club membership.

    What are the lead times for payments?

    Please Note:

    The British Airways Credit Card Online uses Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The cut-off times are governed by INTERBANK CLEARING RULES.

    Weekdays:

    Any internal transactions made from a British Airways Credit Card account to another British Airways Credit Card or Absa account will be credited immediately.
    British Airways Credit Card will ensure that any external transactions less than R5 000 000.00 done before 15h30 and transactions above R5 000 000.00 made before 14h00 will reach the destination Bank by the same business day.

    Saturdays:

    Any internal transactions made from a British Airways Credit Card account to another British Airways Credit Card or Absa account will be credited immediately.
    British Airways Credit Card will ensure that any external transactions less than R5 000 000.00 done before 10h45 and transactions above R5 000 000.00 made before 09h30 will reach the destination Bank by the same day.

    Sundays and Public holidays:

    All external transactions will be sent to the destination Bank the following business day. Only internal transactions will be credited the same day.

  • Can I transact or link my BA account on Absa Banking App or Absa Online Banking?

    • ·Yes, if you have an existing Absa Account and Active Profile
      • You can link your BA account on the Absa App Bank Ap
      • You can link you BA account on the Absa Online Banking Site
  • Will my access account number be updated when my BA account is migrated to Visa?

    No, unfortunately you will have to continue using your exiting access account number when you logon to the BACard website

  • Why should I update my Country of Residence and Address to South Africa?

    • British Airways Executive Club members who hold the Absa British Airways credit card do not earn Avios Points on their British Airways credit card when they have their country of residence or physical/postal address not in South Africa.
    • To continue to enjoy earning Avios Points on your Absa British Airways credit card ensure that all the country of residence or physical/postal address we have for you in Absa and on British Airways Executive Club in South Africa.
  • How do I update my Country of Residence or Address in Absa?

    Please send a copy of your ID and proof of residence to the BA team that handles FICA-related queries: ficaescalations@absa.co.za.

  • How do I update my Country of Residence or Address on my British Airways profile?

  • How do I register on British Airways Executive Club (BAEC) profile?

    • You can visit www.britishairways.com and select “Join the Club” button to create your profile.
    • Please make sure that the customer details that you enter on your British Airways Executive Club (BAEC) profile matched / are the same as the customer details that you used when applying for the British Airways credit card.
    • The Terms and conditions including Benefits linked to your Avios Points are listed on the British Airways website: www.britishairways.com
  • How do I register on British Airways Executive Club (BAEC) profile?

    • You will continue to spend on British Airways credit card issued by Absa but you will not earn or not be awarded Avios Points towards your credit card spend.
    • Please note the following rule “any Avios Points not allocated for more than 365 days will be lost and cannot be allocated to a customer”’.
  • What if I do not want to update my Country of Residence and Address to South Africa?

    • You will continue to spend on British Airways credit card issued by Absa but you will not earn or not be awarded Avios Points towards your credit card spend.
    • Please note the following rule “any Avios Points not allocated for more than 365 days will be lost and cannot be allocated to a customer”’.
